|jane wade singer, musician, songwriter, actress|
|Jane Wade (aka Holman) has one of the best voices in the business. She honed her singing in the punk/new wave scene in 1980's Newcastle. Her main band was Jazawaki, and their single 'Don't Panic' is still traded on the indie music market.|
She is a renowned singer and actress in
her home city of Newcastle upon Tyne, known as Northern England's
leading interpreter of the songs of Kurt Weill. She is also in demand as
a vocal teacher and coach.
On the more commercial side, Jane commands big fees singing on soundtracks for National TV adverts.
She has performed one-woman shows at Live Theatre about Alma Cogan and Lotte Lenya.
She starred in show written by Tina Turner's guitarist Jon Miles. Jon's music is probably quite far removed from The Questionnaires, in terms of style, but you don't miss a chance to name-drop, do you?
Her latest hit show in 2005 was 'Lush Life', in which she sang the songs of Ella Fitzgerald with great style. See the review at The British Theatre Guide.
